As of March 13, 2025, the Sunchild First Nation is led by Chief Joey Pete and councillors, Adriel Bigchild, Audrey Crookedlegs, James Frencheater, Clint McHugh, Jessica Goodrunning and Norman Lagrelle. The Chief and Council oversee approximately 1500 members (1,528 as of January 2024), with approximately 65% living on the Nation.
